The fair trade
"The fair trade is based on a business relationship with small farmers of the southern countries. It was established to guarantee trade relationships only with small producers, to respect the social legislations and to preserve the environment. All to support a sustainable developement."
Origin of the organic cotton
The organic cotton, which we use for our t-shirts comes from India, more precisely from the Madhya Pradeh region in the center of India. The cotton is grown by small farms on less than one hectar of land. These farming families are all natives and the most deprived in this region.
These small farms belong to an Indian organisation, which gives the farmer technical and finacial support, advises them, promotes their activities and buys their cotton. The target of this organisation is to actively support the organic and not the conventional cultivation.
"Himshikha Development Project"
HIMSHIKHA the NGO (Non-Governmental Organization), established in 2007 is an organisation for development aid. It's purpose is to develop and support alternative solutions, which enables a lasting social development, mainly in India.
Himshikha stands for an ecological, economical, social and sustainable development project and includes the following tasks: support and popularization of biological cultivation, the maintenance of the environmental balance, the management of mineral resources, the preservation of the abundance of species and the protection of the environment.
Himshikha concentrates on a long-lasting development of health issues, education, cultivation and further agricultural developments.
Himshikha dedicates itself to improve the living conditions of the rural communities, in order to give them more opportunities, without consideration regarding their belief, their origin or their gender.
Additional to the fair trade commitments, the NGO provides two medical visits twice a year during which one doctor and 3 to 4 nurses carry out examinations and hand out necessary medicines.
